Abuja, May 17, 2023 – Shri G. Balasubramanian, the High Commissioner of India, had the privilege of meeting Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, a renowned Nobel Laureate and tireless advocate for children’s rights. The meeting, which took place on May 17, highlighted Mr. Satyarthi’s exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to ending child labor and promoting education worldwide.

Mr. Kailash Satyarthi’s contributions to the welfare of children have been truly remarkable. His tireless efforts and relentless campaigning against child labor have earned him global recognition and the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. His organization, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement), has rescued and rehabilitated countless children from exploitative labor situations, giving them a chance for a brighter future.

During the meeting, Shri G. Balasubramanian expressed deep admiration for Mr. Satyarthi’s inspiring work and acknowledged the profound impact he has made in improving the lives of children globally. The High Commissioner highlighted the shared commitment of India and the international community to prioritize the well-being and rights of children.

Mr. Satyarthi, who has dedicated his life to the cause, emphasized the importance of continued efforts to eradicate child labor and ensure every child’s right to education and a safe childhood.
