The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Seychelles, Sylvestre Radegonde, has sent a letter to his counterpart in Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In his letter, Minister Radegonde highlighted the progress and achievements of their relations over the past four and a half decades.

Minister Radegonde expressed Seychelles’ appreciation for the support and friendship extended by Cuba, emphasizing that both countries share a commitment to the values of peace, solidarity, and cooperation. He further elaborated on the longstanding friendship built on mutual respect and understanding, citing their collaborations in healthcare, climate change, sustainable development, and multilateralism.

In his letter, Minister Radegonde also touched on the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in the face of global challenges, particularly for small island developing states (SIDS). He reaffirmed Seychelles’ support for eliminating the embargo against Cuba, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to address global issues.
