Labour shortages in Europe are making it easier for non-EU workers to find employment, and Denmark is the latest country to open its doors to international talent.
By lowering minimum salary requirements, expanding its fast-track work permit scheme, and making more jobs available to foreigners, Denmark is aiming to attract skilled workers. The country is also granting an extended job search period for foreign students who complete their university degrees.
Denmark is currently experiencing a shortage of professionals in science, engineering, healthcare, teaching, IT, and finance. To apply for residence, individuals must show evidence of their educational qualifications and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Denmark is lowering the pay threshold for foreign nationals, allowing them to apply for work and residence permits if they earn at least DKK 375,000 (€50,344). Additionally, Danish companies can apply for fast-track certification and employ foreigners under more flexible terms.
International students studying at Danish universities will also have more opportunities to stay and work in the country following graduation.
